Work Experience and Work Placement – September 2019 to July 2020.

Before starting work experience, all students need to spend around six hours developing their paperwork and knowledge skills in class or online and are handpicked by their teacher to match any placements. At ELSH we offer variable support to young students which means their get full of fresh ideas interested, enthusiastic, learning, developing new skills and include time spent with the volunteer mentor. Student will find interest to continue with further education, training and sometimes promising employments and develop the workforce of the future.

ELSH offer work experience and placement to student from the local colleges. We are focusing to help our local student benefit from young talent, ready to support the local economy ELSH is looking forward to:

  • Boost its reputation in the community.
  • Build relationships with local teaching/ learning centre and colleges to work together and to build a new workforce to support our community from a disadvantaged deprived town (Barnsley) in the UK. On average, 40% of care leavers aged 19-21 are not in education, employment or training. It ranked worst for English, Maths, ICT and Science education in England. Working together with emphasis and developed a series of interventions that will have the focus on supporting the development of young people to better prepare them for the current world of work.

There are plenty of benefits to volunteering with us, but here are some of the highlights:

  • Meeting people from around the world, learning new cultures, making new friends, and testing new varieties of foods and learning new cuisine.
